Day Three: Cal Black Media at Democratic National Convention ‘08
The real deal—not reported on much—is that the majority of Hillary Clinton delegates are uniting behind Obama at this convention. There are still meetings going on to determine how the roll call vote will go tonight….however, a deal has been made, and all sides ‘should’ be happy.
The vote tonight will go as far as Colorado (this is what I am hearing.) This means our huge California delegation will have their votes heard. Clinton won the vote in the state primary…however tonight’s vote may be different. We’ll see….it’s time to move on!

I thought Hillary Clinton did a good job with her speech last night. I would have liked to have seen a longer presentation on ALL the women candidates who have shaped the party…and ran for president…how about more time on Shirley Chisholm, or Bella
Abzug, or Carole Mosely Brown?

And…how about more time for Fannie Lou Hamer and Barbara Jordan? If we’re going to talk about women who have shaped the Democratic Party then let’s do it right!!
Last night’s ‘after-events’ included receptions put on by the Congressional Black Caucus and The Black Press–including TV One and the Los Angeles Sentinel. It’s great seeing the African-American delegates and elected officials celebrate this historic convention.
We will all get to the Pepsi Center early tonight….Bill Clinton and Joe Biden will speak….and oh yeah…we’ll have the vote for Barack Obama as the ‘official’ presidential nominee of the Democratic Party. Let’s get it started!
